Taking its membership of the Slow Food movements – and head chef Ben Johnson’s passion for Mediterranean cooking – one step further, New Forest hotel Burley Manor is hosting an evening-long celebration of Spanish, Italian, Turkish, Lebanese and North African flavours (think wood-fired flatbreads, paella and an Italian-style hog roast made with local pork and herbs from the property’s kitchen garden) on 25th August.

Tickets for the Mediterranean Garden Party cost £10 per person, including a glass of sparkling wine from nearby Hambledon Vineyard (tastings can also be booked on the top deck of the vineyard’s double decker) and live music.
