Advertiser & Times Burley Manor dishes up a taste of the Med

Mediterranean cuisine is the inspiration for the first food festival in an evening garden party atmosphere to be hosted by Burley Manor this summer.

The hotel, whose restaurant has a Mediterranean-themed menu, is expanding its offering selling tickets for the debut Summer Garden Party on Sunday 25th August, starting at 4pm.

Ben Johnson, Burley Manor’s executive head chef, will be cooking with his kitchen team outside on the terrace.

Wood-fired flatbreads, traditional paella and a Moroccan-style hog roast will be among the highlights of the event, prepared in Mediterranean style using local ingredients such as pannage pigs and Burley venison.

Drinks will be provided on arrival with thelp of Hambledon Vineyard and its English sparkling wine straight from the Hampshire Vineyard’s double-decker bus.

There will be exclusive tasting sessions on the top deck with panoramic views across the New Forest and neighbouring deer park. Alternative tipples include a selection of Burley cocktails, Perrier-Jouet Champagne and artisan gins. These include the local Lymington Gin, plus Warner’s honeybee, rhubard and elderflower gin at the pop-up bar.

A hotel spokesperson said,: “Pick up a blanket and find a spot on the lawn at the front of the manor to enjoy music from a local modern folk band throughout the afternoon and evening.”

Tickets are £20 per person, for this adults-only event and must be pre-booked.
