Self-care Sunday with Chloe Rodrigues

Here at the Manor, it’s no secret that we’re passionate about wellbeing – it’s health-giving and good for the soul, provoking happiness and rejuvenating mind and body. Every day we encourage all of our wellbeing guests to continue these practices in their own homes to enhance their everyday wellbeing, however, in our busy lives this can become a little tricky. So, we’re bringing you a new series of ‘Self-Care Sundays’ with our head therapist, Chloe. Every week, Chloe will be bringing you her top tips, tricks, regimes, favourite products, treatments and more to help you on your way to healthier, happier, and better you!

Before we jump into Chloe’s top tips for beginning your self-care Sunday routine, we wanted to share a little background on Chloe’s experience and some fun facts about her too:

From London to the New Forest I’ve spent the past 5-years in the beauty industry working for
some of the UK’s luxury spas and beauty brands and now I now resided in the beautiful New Forest.

Long soaks in the bath with Temple Spa’s Drift Away
Bath Oil and Siesta Forever Candle – just pure bliss!

Meditation and yoga around the New Forest

It just has to be a mojito, so light and refreshing and perfect for summer. But
during the autumn months, nothing beats a lovely espresso martini in front of the fire.

Mexican! From tacos and nachos to burritos, I love it.

Childs pose – it helps to stretch the hips, thighs and ankles whilst reducing stress and fatigue.

‘In the beginning’ cleanser by Temple Spa. It’s so luxurious and takes make-up off like
a dream. If I’m feeling indulgent, I’ll pop a bit on and leave it for 5-10 minutes as a mask
to restore hydration in my skin.

Right, now over to Chloe for her very first Self Care Sunday…

“Taking time to wind down at the end of the week is oh-so important, it’s time to heal your body, nourish your soul, treat your skin and get ready for a positive, productive week ahead. Everyone’s self-care Sunday routine is a little different depending what your needs are, how much time you have and what your personal hobbies are – it’s all about what means most to you! If you have no idea where to start, here are my top tips and recommendations for starting your own routine:

  1. Decide how much time you have – whether it be an hour in the evening, the entire afternoon or even the whole day, this is your starting point to decide what you can fit in.
  2. Get relaxed! It’s so important to leave all the stresses from the week behind and calm your mind. Start with lighting a candle or two (my favourite is Temple Spa’s Siesta Forever candle, infused with a luxurious blend of relaxing essential oils that will leave you with a sense of calm)
  3. Have a long soak – If you find it hard to relax, run yourself a lovely hot bubble bath with your favourite essential oils or bubbles and soak away all your troubles. If you don’t have a bath or it’s just not your cup of tea, take a shower but treat yourself to some extra special products just for Sundays.
  4. Take a walk – If you have a little more time, head out for an afternoon walk and breathe in the fresh air. If you’re close to the forest, take a blanket and head for the heathlands. Take a seat and engage all of your senses and feel at one with nature.
  5. It’s all about the skincare – Our skin works hard to keep us healthy, and you can return the favour by taking care of it, so it’s important to take some time to keep it feeling and looking good. If you’re not sure where to start, book yourself a consultation and I can take you through the very best products for your skin.

Now, mark your calendars for this Sunday and get ready to relax!
