'GINUARY' AT BURLEY MANOR

Now, you all know here at Burley Manor we love a good G&T, and when we heard January was also ‘Ginuary’ our ears perked up.

Did you know on our menu we have 18 different gins? Yep, that’s right from the classics you already know and love, to some of our favourite local spirits and the unique flavours of Firkin, Bulldog and Black Tomato – It’s extensive and quite frankly, a winner for any ginaholic!

Once you’ve chosen your gin, let us help you find the perfect pairing to match the vibrant flavours and textures of your chosen spirit. Finest gins deserve a premium tonic and that’s why we always serve our gins with award-winning Fever-Tree. With a clean, subtle and balanced taste with authentic flavours, Fever-Tree tonics have the perfect carbonation and six varieties, always creating a winning partner for your gin.

So, what do we recommend?

CLASSICS

Hendricks – A grain gin infused with 10 flavour components that include traditional botanicals such as juniper, coriander and citrus peel. The use of the less mainstream cucumber and rose petals results in a singular style. It’s made a name for itself in a gin & tonic, served with a slice of cucumber and Fever-Tree’s elderflower tonic.

Bombay – A world famous gin in that distinctive blue bottle with every drop containing 10 hand-selected botanicals from exotic locations around the world, all vapour infused to capture their bright, vibrant flavours. This citrus and herbaceous gin pairs perfectly with Fever-Tree’s Mediterranean tonic.

LOCAL

Conker – A unique and intricate gin, distilled and bottled by Dorset’s first gin distillery. While this is still a classic gin, led my dry Macedonian juniper heart, the subtle incorporation of the Dorset notes of elderberries, samphire and hand-picked New Forest gorse flowers brings bright and refreshing lighter notes. Brazenly refreshing and deftly smooth, the Dorset Dry is crafted to stand up on its own, poured and adored over ice. Mix at your pleasure with Fever-Tree’s aromatic tonic water.

Dancing Cows Lymington Gin – Distilled to 43% and infused with hops to give a heady aroma, increased texture and a flavour that really goes well with lime.  Stir together with Fever-Tree’s Mediterranean tonic.

Pothecary – A pleasantly soft style of gin, with a little oiliness and the aromatic notes of lavender and citrus. A very sippable texture and a bold yet balanced flavour profile, and a lovely lingering finish, making an unbeatable pairing with Elderflower tonic.

UNIQUE

FIRKIN – “Artisan handcrafted gins; a marriage of oak and time, crafted by expertise.” This award-winning flavoursome gin is made in small batches and is a quirky libation to our gin shelf. With its own identity FIRKIN has a mix of heritage and progressive attitude, with great tasting spirit, integrity and a healthy twist of curiosity.

Barra gin –Featuring the perfect balance of floral and herbal essences on the nose, leading to the juniper, citrus and dulcet carrageen rolling across the tongue like might Atlantic surf breaking on the Barra shores. It’s refreshing, clean, with a long, gratifying warm spice that opens out like that vast vista surrounding Barra’s beautifully remote home.
